(l.t.r/t.t.b.:) monday: the usual, horse riding lessons for the görls; tuesday: now you tell me, how does egg get into round pepper?! o.O; wednesday: chestnuts – you can never have too many! ; thursday: the görls made themselves waffles; friday: Finished my caramel slouch; saturday: crafting hot air ballons for the görls room; sunday: funday at the zoo.

    Busy bees you are. How do you prepare the chestnuts? Eat them out of the shell or roast them? Do show what you’ll do with these paper balloons in your daughters’ room.

      Those are actually normal chestnuts and are not for eating. I personally link sweet chestnuts to Christmas markets, they are ripe just a little bit later than the ones (in the pictures) we use for crafting.
      Eatable chestnut need to be scratched at the top (only the shell), boiled in water for about 10 minutes, afterwards put in a pre-heated oven. Bake them at 160 Celsius for about 20 minutes (if you don’t scratch the top they most likely explode in your oven 😉 ). Let them cool off, peal and eat’em all!!!!
      I’ll show the balloon project as soon as we’re finished. The attention span is still pretty short with Amber and we are still missing a green balloon … 😉
